Kyle's Turn to Blog! Insulation, Drywall, Drain, and a Thank You!

So, I shot my mouth off when Morgan completed her last blog about some editing items and she proceeded to say a few things in response to my comment and one of them that stood out (or maybe she just said it that loud, and gave me "the look") was "you can do it next time!"

That'll be fine here I am!

Things are rocking (literally) with the house right now. The sheetrock is all hung with the taping/mudding complete and ready to be sanded. Prior to that the insulation was blown in and placed where needed.

The drywall and mud was delivered by LDS, I used to work for them and deliver this stuff, it was one of those "character building jobs".

While the drywall and mudding was going on inside the siding was being put in place on the outside.

Since I am writing the blog this time I will show you something that "someone else" would not have put on here. The garage floor drain. Custom made by Dave Gatlin himself! Let's just say this drain turned in to his "personal quest". I will explain the reasoning later, maybe after the house has been completed for a year or so....

Here is what it looks like now, it will soon change as the concrete is going to be poured within the next 24 hours!

A huge thank you goes out to Dave Gatlin / Gatlin Homes for making this process so very easy for us. When talking with others who have built houses they always have horror stories to tell and inconveniences to share that they have had with other builders. We have not had one problem or inconvenience and do not expect any in the future. Dave has been very easy to work with and spot on with many things along the way. Also, thank you to his wife Jennifer Gatlin with Woods Bros Realty for selling our house in Lincoln so quickly letting this building process begin!

Time for a drink, since this blogging stuff is so intense!
