Our House Sold

I know it has been awhile and Kyle asked me tonight if I have been blogging at all. I said no and looked and it has been over 2 months!! YIKES :(

So we are here to tell you that we have great news!!!! OUR HOUSE IN LINCOLN SOLD :)

Whewww...Can you say that is a sigh of relief. Kyle and I are very happy with this and we will begin building here in the next few weeks on our land outside of Ashland. I will try to record every detail and argument about building a house. YES there have been arguments and debates already about this house we are building. Let's just say I won with the white kitchen and Kyle won with a rather large garage. I don't get it? Men and garages. I guess that is something a girl will never know :)

We want to show you some pictures of our land before the demolition and after! As you can see it has been wiped clean of all trees and buildings. Our next step is to burn everything and then remove it. We are hoping for some nice weekends so we can burn :)

T-shirt Head Band

So I was browsing around Pinterest (again if you do not have this you need to get it ASAP) and I found T-shirt scarfs. I thought to myself well if you can make a scarf out of old T-shirts why can't I make a head band?? So the creativity kicked in.

1st I found an old white T-shirt that I didn't need anymore.

2nd I cut the bottom off because it had printing on the top half.

3rd cut into strips. You can make these as large or small as you would like. I did a medium length strip so my headband would be a little bit wider.

4th unfold the strips and then fold them in half.

5th cut those strips in half.

6th grab three strips and sew together.

7th start to braid those strips. You can do this as tight or as loose as you want to. Just depends on what you want your headband to look like.

8th sew the bottom of the braid together.

9th then sew the entire braid together (the top and bottom need to be sewn together).

10th once you have as many bands as you like then you can start the finalization process. I decided I would do three because I wanted a thicker headband.

11th cut a small square of T-shirt out and wrap it around the braids. Once it is on tight sew it to the braids. Make sure this part is on the inside of the headband!

12th IMPORTANT. Make sure your headband is the right size before you sew it all together. Mine was a little bit so now I have to undo all the stitching to make it smaller. Measure before you finish!

Oreo Stuffed Peanut Butter Cookies

So I thought since I was in the baking mood about a week ago I would make a cookie for the first home Husker football game. We tailgate every year and I thought why not make a YUMMY cookie, plus Kyle saw this cookie and said he wanted to try it.

Oreo Stuffed Peanut Butter Cookies courtesy of http://www.the-girl-who-ate-everything.com/.

1st get all ingredients out and ready to use. Can anyone tell me what MAIN ingredient I would be missing in this picture???
LOL...YEP....Peanut Butter!!!!! So don't forget to get peanut butter out and ready to use :)

2nd cream together butter, peanut butter, sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.

3rd add egg, one at a time to make sure they are fully mixed in.

4th stir in the flout, baking powder, salt, and baking soda.

5th refrigerate dough for 1 hour or longer.

6th place 1 tablespoon of cookie dough on top of the Oreo cookie. Place a second tablespoon underneath. Press dough down around the Oreo. Make sure to seal the cookie dough edges together so that no Oreo shows.

7th bake for 8-11 minutes, or until cookies have started to brown around the edges.

8th cool on baking sheet for a couple of minutes, then transfer to a cooling rack.

9th TASTE TEST!!!

These cookies are out of this world. It is a perfect blend of Oreo and peanut butter :)
